Audi’s ALL NEW A3 Saloon
Following its Fantastic debut early 2013 at the Motor Show in Geneva, Audi has revealed the prices for its A3 saloon with the 1st delivery dates due in September.
The new A3 Saloon range has a start cost of just £24275, this is for the economical 2.0L TDi 148bhp model OR the smallest petrol engines the 1.4TFSi which puts out 138bhp. At the top of the tree comes the 1.8TFSi s-Line petrol engine giving out a whopping 178bhp and this will set you back just £28105.
Offering its users the same cabin space as its 5 door hatch brother the A3 saloon offers up slightly more luggage space with its seats up due to a 14cm increase in length. Coming in at 11mm wider and also lowered to the tune of an additional 9mm this give the A3 saloon a very distinctive look. Luggage capacity has been increased by a stunning 45 litres to now offer 425 litres in total space with the rear seats in place.
Although the Sport and S-Line versions can have a standard comfortable suspension set up specified at no additional cost to the end user its more than likely most drivers will opt for the vehicle to come with the sports suspension, both the Sport version and the S-Line come with 17” & 18” wheels respectively.
I expect the most eagerly anticipated version of this all new Audi model will be the S3 Saloon due out sometime in early 2014, its going to be driven by Audis 2.0TFSi engine giving out a massive 296bhp, this will do 0-62mph in under 5.0 seconds in the S-Tronic Gearbox version.
As well as the evident style change of adding a boot there have also been remarkable changes made to the bumpers, intakes, wheel arches and to the bonnet to create a much smoother, lower looking car. What Audi have tried to emulate is the ‘Coupe idea’ but in a 4 door saloon.
