The Bentley Bentayga is nearly here!
Finally after all the teasing we get to see the exterior and interior look of the Bentley Bentayga! Here at Rivervale Car Leasing we have been following the progress of Bentleys first ever SUV. It all started at the Geneva Motor Show all the way back in 2012 with Bentleys EXP 9 F concept and will finally go on sale in 2016 – so here’s what we know ………..
The strange name Bentayga was chosen to represent the wide variety of terrains and climates Bentleys SUV will be at home in. it is made from the world Taiga which is the world’s largest snow forest and the Roque Bentayga which is a rugged peak found in the Canary Islands. So from this we can assume the Bentley Bentayga is going to be tough – the school run will be no problem!
So close to the release date the Bentley Bentayga has been out and about with minimal disguise so we know for sure what the exterior will look like …………
The interior has been revealed in an official promo video from Bentley revealing head-up display, external night vision cameras and the all-important cup holder!
Under the bonnet is another first for Bentley with a petrol-electric powertrain. It has also been hinted by the CEO himself Wolfgang Schreiber that another first for Bentley may happen with the Bentayga as a diesel engine may be introduced in time along with a plug in hybrid.
The engine used in the test models seen out and about us the 6.0 litre W12 engine and it is expected a 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 will also be on offer.
The production of the Bentley Bentayga will be taking place in Crewe creating 1000 new jobs, there have been 4000 expressions of interest in the Bentayga already but there is competition expected in the luxury SUV market from Rolls-Royce and Aston Martin who are rumoured to be planning their own models. Despite this Bentley hope to sell 3,000 – 4,000 SUV’s per year with prices expected to start at around 140,000 and go all the way up to £200,000.
And once the Bentayga has been released that may not be the end as Bentley have expressed their desire to create a Bentayga family in the same way Range Rover have expanded their range with the sport and evoque.
