The UK’s Killer Roads
A Report is out from the Road Safety Foundation revealing the roads that have shown no improvement in accident rates or have shown an increase in the amount of accidents. So here are the roads to avoid ………
The number one most deadly stretch of road was the A285 between Chichester and Petworth in West Sussex as here the number of serious and fatal crashes have risen by 16 % between 2007- 2012 so this is the worst offender to avoid if you can the others are as follows ……
2. The A809 from the A811 into Glasgow.
3. The A937 towards Montrose, Angus.
4. The A18 between Laceby and Ludborough in Lincolnshire.
5. The A61 between Wakefield and the M1 in Yorkshire.
The report also highlighted the most common times to crash. There are 64 people who are killed or seriously injured in the UK every day. The most common accidents are those involving junctions. The report also showed that the risk of death or serious injury is 7 times greater on a single carriageway.
