Mercedes-AMG A35 - Rivervale Review
Quick, Stylish and fun to drive! 3 things that the A35 ticks boxes on!
This Rivervale 2 minute review is centred on the Mercedes-Benz A35 with the premium plus package, however, you don’t have to include this option. Why do we make that clear? Because the premium plus package does come at a hefty price of £6,000! Before you count it out remember it does include a lot of stunning features to the vehicle.
Exterior bits include black mirror caps, privacy glass and black 19inch alloy wheels which gives it that sporty stylish look. The back of the A35 has an impressive rear bumper which makes it look meaty and fast and separates it from other models in its class.
Inside the cabin of the car, the added features from the premium plus package include larger displays, panoramic sunroof, seats with memory function, Burmester sound system and to be fair quite a few others that we could make a long list of. Memory Seats – The vehicle allows you to adjust your seating, steering wheel and side mirrors for a more comfortable drive. The car is programmed to save up to 3 seating positions.
A Class Series - Where does it stand?
Comparing to the standard A Class isn't really fair; the A35 has a more aggressive styling to it which includes the black front splitter and a much more aggressive grille. A lip spoiler is built on the vehicle which is nice and quite subtle however if you want that statement piece you can get a large rear spoiler instead, but you would need to have the aerodynamic pack for that to be included. If you do go for the aerodynamic pack you will get front flaps and a modified front splitter too. The Mercedes-Benz A35 comes with 10 different colours for you to choose from so if the one in the video isn't your cup of tea then there’s plenty to pick from. Polar white and Sun yellow are standard without charge but the other ones will come with a cost and 4 leather upholstery colours are available.
The A35 is not a 3.5-litre engine as some have assumed it is a 2 litre turbocharged with a 7-speed automatic transmission. When accelerating the 4Matic 4-wheel drive system makes a massive difference because it produces a lot less wheel spin and gives the vehicle a lot more grip when taking on corners and bends. With over 300 brake horsepower and reaching 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, the A35 isn’t the quickest A Class about, the A45 has over 420 horsepower and does 0-60 in under 4 seconds!
- Top speed: 155mph
- 0-62mph: 4.7 secs
- MPG: 38.7
- Doors: 5
- Seats: 5
