A Day Driving the Nissan Juke
Welcome to our all new car reviews the boss here at Rivervale car leasing has finally trusted me to take a set of keys and see what I think ……………it’s taken nearly a year!
The first car I have been let loose with is the striking Nissan Juke in the bold and daring sunlight yellow! The Juke really is a car for people who want to be noticed and I really did become aware of a few glances – I’m not sure whether it was admiration or alarm at my bright exterior but either way I felt like a little beam of sunshine cheering up the A27 on a dreary day!
As a crossover the Juke sits slightly higher than a hatchback or saloon and I liked it – being slightly above the majority of vehicles on the road meant I could see a little but further making me feel just that little bit safer. Height on the school run also helped my daughter pick me out of the crowds of parents impatiently waiting outside the school gates!
So how much space is there? There’s enough for your shopping, a pushchair and to give you a visual guide to the space in a Juke when I got back to work I threw a technician in there! So there is plenty of room for a full grown man and plenty of space for 3 adults in the back! The boot has a split compartment so also handy for hiding away any sneaky purchases until you can smuggle them in the house!
I loved the interior with sunlight yellow making its way inside. The creature comforts inside are all the usuals - electric windows, climate control, adjustable steering wheel column, glove box big enough for the emergency make up kit, armrest and thankfully cup holders for that coffee you just didn’t have time for at home. There is a lot of tech on offer too - sat nav is built in so no fumbling with your phone. In car entertainment can be controlled from the steering wheel as well as answering calls from your mobile. The Juke also tries to help you improve your driving with Interior lights near the wing mirrors letting you know if there is a car next to you and if you and beeping to alert you if you try and change lanes so say goodbye to that pesky blind spot. There’s also cruise control and speed limiter, lane departure warning system and the colour 360 degree view camera. I loved the camera it helps check there are no small people, animals or other cars around you before you speed off - and if like me you are a bit dodgy at parking - just press the camera button when you think you are in the space to see if you really are – this avoids the embarrassing opening the door slightly to see if you are in the white lines move!
I did miss a few really tiny creature comforts I enjoy – firstly no light by the mirror on the drivers visor – I know it’s a small thing but it’s very handy for touching up make up in the dark. Secondly was a footrest next to the clutch, it may sound silly but I don’t like my foot completely on the floor of the foot well or hovering mid-air!
I was driving the Nissan Juke 1.5 dci acenta premium with extra comfort and safety pack capable of 76.40 mpg with a Euro 5* safety rating. There are 4 main versions of the Juke to choose from, which can all then be personalised. The Visia models have all the essentials you will need to enjoy driving your Juke. The Acenta range is one step up with some added extras for a more refined and comfortable drive. For technology addicts there is the Tekna range which is full to the brim of all the latest technology available for your car and for those who want a sportier faster Juke there is the Nismo range with race car inspired interior. Diesel engines all come as a 1.5 litre and in the petrol version you can choose from the economical 1.2 litre engine or the speedier 1.6 litre engine so there really is a Juke for everybody!
We have all the versions of Jukes available here for business or personal lease …………

The Juke is a great everyday car for round town and will also cope and be comfortable for longer journeys. Overall for me the Nissan Juke is a bundle of fun encased in a deliciously eye-catching wrapper!
