Rivervale Host Successful Return of the Brighton and Hove Motor Show
With over 50 exhibitors at the show, the American Express Community Stadium played host to the motor industry for the return of a general motor show to the city in over 10 years.
Over the weekend 10,000 visitors attended where there was something on offer for everyone. With nine topical themed zones the aim of the first year was to bring visitors the opportunity to not only see but also experience and feel the excitement of the motoring world. Headline sponsors Mobil1 provided the eye-catching feature of the show with their Formula 1 car. Friend of Rivervale Bradley Walsh officially opened the show before jumping in a go kart and whizzing round the onsite track!
Event Founder – Vince Pemberton
"Having grown up in a motor trade family it was clear this industry was where my future was to lie. Although very different to what I am used to being involved with, this event has been hard work but immensely satisfying. The engagement and support we have had has been fantastic and without that support we would not have been able to bring the motor show back to a great city that really deserves one!"
The show was organised and run by Rivervale who have a historical connection to the prestigious Endeavour Motor Company once based on London Road Brighton. Throughout the years, Rivervale like many other local dealerships, has longed for an opportunity to showcase its products, services and information to their local audience. Without a local opportunity Rivervale decided to engage with the Sussex motor trade community to assess the appetite for a large scale home grown event. After discussing the concept and putting together a plan it was decided, Rivervale would start the engine of the all-new Brighton and Hove Motor Show!
Event Director – Bud Johnston
The American Express Community stadium is the premier venue on the south coast, so it was a no brainer to find a way to make it happen at that location. Summers in Brighton involve a packed calendar of events so we are very grateful for the huge turnout, fantastic weather and commitment form exhibitors and sponsors from day one.
Visitors were well catered for as the zone topics included a Motorsports, Classics, Go-Karting and Innovation. The Family Zone was the hub of the event, providing everything from child friendly funfair rides to informative content on the latest safety features from Sussex Police. The ethos was a winner and the plan is to repeat the event next year.
Event Coordinator – Marcus Khan
"After a year of planning it was great to see everything come together. We fulfilled our aims and objectives and feedback has been very positive from both visitors and exhibitors. I donlt know of many motor events where you can go Go-Karting and test drive vehicles for a full driving experience."
