Siri Integration – Would you Adam and Eve it?
As of last Wednesday, the 19th of June, anyone ordering a new Vauxhall Adam can choose to add Siri Eyes Free iPhone Integration, making the Adam the first car in its sector to have voice-activated web access.
Are you already driving an Adam and have just frowned at my first paragraph? Well turn your frown upside down because there is some good news from Vauxhall for any Adam drivers that already have the Intellilink system. Vauxhall will be rolling out a free software upgrade which means you too can benefit from Siri Eyes Free!
A compatible iPhone is all that you need with the help of the steering wheel mounted button. Various tasks can be selected using the Siri voice command such as making a call hands free, changing radio station or music track. You can also use Siri to compile and send an email or text message to a contact in your directory.
One question that a lot of drivers will ask is ‘How easy is it to use?’. The answer to that is simple, just connect your iPhone via Bluetooth by way of conventional pairing, press the voice activation button and fire away with a Siri command.
Another bit of good news is that it’s also compatible with Android phones so you don’t have to have an iPhone to take advantage of it. Other apps integrate with the car also, for example you can make full use of the cars seven inch high resolution, colour, touch screen with BringGo, a navigation app.
At just £275 I think this is well worth the money to make your phone a lot more integrated with the car and let’s face it, a lot safer!
