The Monaco Grand Prix 2013
The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the most prestigious and glamorous racing events in the world, along with the Daytona 500, Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Nico Rosberg led from start to finish in the 2013 edition of the Monaco Grand Prix, in an accident stricken race. Rosberg’s teammate Lewis Hamilton started in second but finished 4th although Mercedes were strong throughout, saving their tyres and, in doing that, preventing the other teams from pitting.
The whole race in fact was a poor grand prix in comparison to the usual excitement of the Monaco Grand Prix’s in recent years. It will be more remembered for the amount of retirements the race had; SergioPerez, Romain Grosjean, Daniel Ricciardo, Jules Bianchi, Pastor Maldonado, Felipe Massa and Charles Pic. With dangerous driving being the key factor of collisions, and with regards to the track, many elevation changes and tight corners as well as a tunnel, making it one of the most strenuous and demanding tracks in Formula One.
The race leaves the Title still wide open, but Sebastian Vettel is still a substantial 21 points ahead of his Finnish rival Kimi Raikkonen, with Fernando Alonso in 3rd. There are 13 more races left on the calendar, with the British Grand Prix not too far away, which will be held at Silverstone from 28th-30th June
The next race will be held in Montreal, Canada, from 7th- 9th June.
