The New Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet
The specification and pricing have been revealed by Mercedes Benz for their new E-Class Cabriolet and new Coupe. These two models both feature a new stylish look with a significant enhanced standard specification.
The Cabriolet is priced from £38,465 with the Coupe starting from £35,095
Enhancements include a new revised front end appearance that consists of new partial LED headlamps plus a single headlamp lens, and the single sport grille. The front end has now a more prominent V-shape design with sizeable air intakes and at the rear, new tail lamps and wide-effect rear bumper with ’wing design’ and chrome-look trim.
Initially, four engine options will be offered for the E-Class: one petrol and three diesels.
All cars will come with part-LED headlights, heated leather seats, DAB radio, and 17-inch five twin-spoke alloy wheels, while an array of safety systems also come standard across the range.
The AMG Sport models will add 18” alloy wheels, upgraded brakes, new AMG styling, and visible twin-pipe exhausts. As from October there will also be an option to upgrade to an AMG Sport Plus package, priced at £1,795. This consists of 19” AMG alloy wheels, An AMG body colour boot spoiler. Also AMG sports seats with red seatbelts and red interior stitching completing the look.
As part of the new advanced technology included in the new Coupe and Cabriolet is the Stereo Multi-Purpose Camera (SMPC). This new camera outputs 3D images of up to 50 metres in front which aids some of the upgraded safety systems. Another enhancement is the wind deflector on the Cabriolet (Aircap) which at speeds greater than 25 mph will automatically engage and at speeds less than 10 mph will automatically close, while the sound-insulating acoustic roof can be opened or closed in 20 seconds while driving at speeds of up to 25 mph.
If you are after a comfortable, hi-tech and refined Cabriolet or Coupe, the new E-Class range will prove a very hard act to beat.
