The New Mercedes CLA
The Mercedes-Benz model line up has grown again with introduction of their new 4 door coupe named the CLA.
The CLA although in appearance is very similar to its big brother the CLS it is in fact very different as it is based on the A-Class platform and will be driven by a front wheel drive power train, meaning that it in many ways in no larger or far different from your average family hatchback.
The engine range has been launched with just a 1.6 turbocharged petrol unit and 2.1 turbo diesel that will be available with either 120 or 168 bhp, however more versions will soon be added with promise of the range topping 4 wheel drive CLA 45 AMG due in the not too distant future.
Inside the cabin you will find the usual Mercedes luxurys and with most of the components and trim having been borrowed from the popular A-Class. There is one main difference inside between the current A-Class and CLA of course being the roofline, with its sleek four door design there inevitably has to be some compromise and it does feel that your head is a little closer to the roof than you perhaps might expect from an executive saloon.
Overall with its sleek design and comfortable ride this is sure to be anther classic from Mercedes.
