The Rivervale Car Leasing Guide to the Jaguar XE 2.0d R-Sport
Jaguar revealed its brand new model the XE dubbed the ‘baby Jaguar’ with great excitement that was only fuelled by the official launch in September 2014 when the XE was suspended below a helicopter and flown over London!
Jaguar say the XE is a ‘wake-up call’ for other family saloon cars placing itself as a firm rival to the Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C Class and the BMW 3 Series. The XE is manufactured right here in Britain at Jaguar's Solihull factory. The first models were on sale in Spring 2015 and since then Jaguar's baby has been collecting awards! It has been named Telegraph Car of the Year 2015. As well as the Telegraph Best Business Car 2015, it has claimed the Auto Express award for Compact Executive Car of the Year 2015, so far this year the Jaguar XE has already won the title of Business Car of the Year Award 2016 at the Business Car Awards. With all these awards the Rivervale Car Leasing Team decided it was time to take a look for ourselves!
Our Account Manager Jake takes you for a look inside the Jaguar XE 2.0d R-Sport …
On the outside you will find a long bonnet, signature J Blade Daytime Running Lights and taillights inspired by Jaguars F-Type sports car. The car is made from a lightweight aluminium frame helping to reduce CO2 emissions. Jaguar’s new Ingenium engines use advanced technologies and an all-aluminium construction that create an engine 20kg lighter and with 17% less internal friction than previously seen. This means the new Ingenium engine is also working to reduce fuel consumption of CO2 emissions.
Technology has also been used to provide several driver assistance features as standard;
- Autonomous Emergency Braking will detect a collision and send the driver an audible warning, if no action is taken a visual warning will then be displayed. If these measure still do not alert the driver to the danger ahead the brakes will be applied automatically to avoid a collision.
- Lane Departure Warning will assess whether your Jaguar is veering out of its lane and send a visual alert and the steering wheel will gently vibrate to get you back on track.
- Traffic Sign Recognition and Adaptive Speed Limiter will read signs up ahead and display them to the driver. This system will also use information from signs about the current speed limit and set your speed limiter to ensure your jaguar never strays over the indicated mph.
