The Vauxhall Astra - A Quick Guide from Rivervale
The Vauxhall Astra has been on our roads since 1979 and has always been a compact family car. The new seventh generation offers new technology and new levels of fuel efficiency.
Our Account Manager, Jake, takes you on a tour of the Vauxhall Astra 1.4T 16V 150 SRi …..
The SRi version is one of 5 different trim levels available so you can tailor your Astra to your own needs.
The entry level trim is Design, with all the motoring essentials you will need for a comfortable journey.
Tech Line will add a leather covered steering wheel, six premium speakers and the more advanced Navi 900 IntelliLink system with fully integrated European sat nav system and a larger 8” colour touchscreen.
Moving up to the Energy trim level will add 17” alloys in place of the standard 16”. You will gain a heated steering wheel and heated front seats, perfect for frosty winter mornings.
The SRi trim level is the one our Account Manager Jake displayed in the video above and at this trim level drivers can enjoy Intelligent Forward Camera System which includes traffic sign recognition, following distance indicator, forward collision alert and active lane assist as well as IntelliLux headlights which will automatically adjust high beam.
Going to the highest Elite trim level adds even more features such as ergonomic front seats, heated rear seats, two rear USB points, electric parking brake and OnStar, Vauxhall's personal connectivity and service assistant.
Debuting in all Vauxhall Astras is the new generation Intellilink infotainment system which is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto meaning everyone should be able to link their smartphone. This system allows the drivers to put key features from their mobile onto the vehicle display. This allows the making and receiving of calls and text messages and access to all music by using the touchscreen, voice activation or Siri.
If the Astra Hatchback is not quite big enough for your needs, the Astra Sports Tourer is available with rear seats foldable in a 40/20/40 split creating flexible loading space, with an overall luggage capacity of 1630 litres. The Sports Tourer offers functionality coupled with elegant design and is available in Design, Tech Line SRi and Elite trims.
