The Worlds Fastest 4 Seater Car - The New Bentley Continental Supersports
The Continental Range is having a makeover with the most notable update the Continental Supersports which will be the fastest 4 seater car on the planet, the most powerful model Bentley currently produce.
The Bentley Continental Engine
The new Continental Supersports is built using the same motorsport technology used in the GT3-R. A 6 litre V12 engine capable of producing 700 bhp allows the new Supersports to reach a top speed of 209 mph while 1017 Nm of torque helps propel the vehicle from 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds.
This level of power is made possible due to a redesign of the turbo chargers making them higher capacity and tweaks to the charge-air cooling system. The Torque Vectoring Brake System first used in the GT3-R is present in the new Supersports. This system monitors the acceleration and steering wheel behaviour of the drivers to apply brakes individually to front and rear wheels when accelerating out of corners keeping you firmly rooted to the road.
Agility is also improved as the brake on the inside rear wheel can be applied when turning independently of the other brakes. A lot of power needs a lot of fuel though, as you would expect mpg figures are low at 18 mpg combined and only 11.6 mpg in urban driving conditions. Not ideal for the environment, or any match for the 2.5 second 0-62 mph time of 2.5 seconds of the Tesla Model S with Ludicrous Speed upgrade
Interior and exterior features of the Bentley Continental Supersports
The outside will command presence on the road as all Bentley’s do, taking on a muscular, brooding look. Carbon fibre elements are scattered around the exterior along with a large optional carbon rear spoiler. Blackware can be found on the radiator surround, door handle inserts and window surrounds. A dark tint to the front and rear lights add an air of mystery and a gloss black exhaust pipe and 21" black alloy wheels continue the dark theme. For the first time the radiator grille matrix has also been designed in glass black to finish the look. The interior is race inspired with a unique chequered design on facias and new diamond quilting on seat centres and side panels.
Bentley offer an abundance of options to personalise each car, meaning every vehicle is unique to its owner. The Continental Supersports is no exception with other 100 exterior paint colours, from the adventurous Orange Flame, Azure Purple, Apple Green or Sequin Blue to the more traditional Black Crystal or Glacier White for the more conservative customer. The interior has a similarly dizzying array of colour options with a new three-tone colour split now available to broaden your choices even further.
If you want top of the range then the Supersports X specification is for you with 8 unique duo tone paint treatments, carbon fibre door mirrors, heel plates, side doors and rear panels, a carbon fibre supersports engine cover and an upgraded titanium exhaust.
A convertible model exists with a slightly slower 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds and top speed of 205 mph.
If you would like to be the proud owner of a Bentley Continental Supersports then place your order quickly as only a limited number will be produced. Prices start at £212,500.
