Three Fleet News Awards for Ford!
Ford Motor Company have held off stiff competition to win three major Fleet News Awards, helped by the inventive and cost effective Ecoboost petrol engines.
Ford have been recognised for the effort they have put into constantly improving their worldwide green credentials along with building tighter and greater relationships with the UK fleet audience by taking the ‘Most Improved Fleet Manufacturer of the Year 2013’ and the ‘Green Fleet Manufacturer of the Year 2013’ awards.
Fords low emission, fuel efficient EcoBoost petrol engines received praise from the Fleet News judges, commenting ‘The Company’s holistic approach includes ultra-efficient manufacturer processes and support for green projects’
Ford have changed their manufacturing processes also by including the use of Wind Turbines to help supply the electricity at their Dagenham Centre along with reducing their global water usage by 10.6 billion gallons since 2010. It was noted that any incremental changes by companies who have such a large global footprint, such as Ford, can have a massive impact globally.
The recent facelift to the ever popular Fiesta has helped Ford win the third award ‘Best Small Car 2013’. Not only does the new Fiesta look fantastic, it drives beautifully and features some great new technology but it also holds its own with low running costs and some excellent residual values. The judges were noted as saying ‘The recent facelift keeps the Ford Fiesta ahead of the pack with its modern, bold look and availability of low CO2 emissions engines for both petrol and diesel’.
