What is the New Volkswagen Arteon?
The Arteon is Volkswagen's new executive saloon. It has undergone a radical transformation from previous models - now with a new name and new distinctive look.
The Volkswagen Arteon is now available to order! It provides a replacement for the Volkswagen CC to attract those in the executive saloon market away from models such as the BMW 5 Series or Audi A6. As the name suggests looks are of high importance in this latest model. The word 'Arteon' is taken from the Latin word for art and Volkswagen believe this 'alludes to the aesthetic lines of the design'
Exterior features of the Volkswagen Arteon and colour choices
On the outside of the Arteon is a flowing aerodynamic contour. It is longer, lower, and wider than the Volkswagen CC and has a coupe like roofline echoing the look of a classic fastback saloon. LED lights come complete with the current fashion sweeping indicators and alloy wheels measure in at 18" on the standard model. A panoramic roof is another current trend and you can choose this as an option, and it is functional as a sunroof as well, with sliding and tilting features.
As standard, the Arteon will come in Urano Grey. If you want to pay a little extra you can choose from Pure White, Atlantic Blue Metallic, Deep Black Pearl Effect, Manganese Grey Metallic, Pyrite Silver Metallic, Crimson Red Signature Metallic, Turmeric Yellow Metallic, Chilli Red Metallic or Oryx White Premium.
Interior features of the Volkswagen Arteon
The interior is all about comfort and luxury with Nappa Leather seats coming as standard across the range in a choice of Titan Black, Grigio, Valencia Brown, a Nappa Leather and Carbon Optic mix or Mistral Grey combined with Raven Grey. As standard, seats are all ergoComfort by design, heated and 6-way adjustable. You can opt to increase this to 14-way adjustable seats with memory and even a massage function if you would like a little extra luxury.
The steering wheel is multi-function so the driver has everything they need at their fingertips and behind the steering wheel is an Active Info Display. This provides the driver information they need regarding speed, mileage, rev counter and driver assistance aids, in their line of sight to glance at easily.
The boot space provided is 563 litres with optional gesture controlled opening via a swipe of the foot under the rear of the vehicle.
There are several infotainment systems that come as standard on every Arteon model;
- Discover Pro - this is the navigation system which uses gesture control to make it really easy to move through menus, or skip through songs or radio stations with a wave of the hand.
- Car-Net App Connect - this feature allows integration of your smartphone so you can access important information such as contact, playlists and messaging services. This is achieved using MirrorLink, CarPlay and Android Auto.
- Car-Net Security and Serve - this system allows you access to important information about your Arteon via your mobile. You can check fuel levels and find out when your next service is due. This service will also provide an emergency call service, so you can get help quickly in the event of a serious incident.
- Car-Net Guide and Inform - This will provide you with real time traffic information as well as help you find local attractions, nearby petrol stations and parking spaces.
As an option you can choose to have Head Up Display in your Arteon which will display important driver information such as speed, nav directions, traffic signs and warnings directly in your line of sight so you do not need to look away from the road in front of you.
For music lovers, there is the option to upgrade to the new DYNAUDIO confidence sound system with surround sound, ten loudspeakers and an extra centre speaker with sub-woofer.
