Founder Carlo Abarth was born in 1908 under the sign of scorpion, which remains on the Abarth Logo to this day. It is reported Carlo had a love of speed from a young age when he wrapped a leather belt around his scooter wheels to be faster than the other children in the neighbourhood.
Abarth as a manufacturer was founded in 1949 and is favoured by those who enjoy a fast, sporty drive. The idea of the scorpion is still very much a part of modern Abarth vehicles. All are designed to be high performing and powerful, yet small and agile like the scorpion. The compact hatchback Abarth 595 is the entry level model with the Abarth 695 Biposto the highest performing born from the Arbarth 695 Corse Evoluzione race car, all are based on the same body shape as the Fiat 500. The new 124 Spider Roadster provides an alternative for those who prefer a classic roadster.
