The All New Ford Transit School Minibus for 2019
The New Ford Transit was revealed at the Hanover CV show in September 2018. The Transit Minibus continues to meet customers’ high expectations and its reputation as the leading minibus in the market is even further enhanced. Our Rivervale guide sets out to help our clients understand some of the significant updates to the new Transit, and how it will benefit schools, teachers and students across the UK.
Both the 12 seat and 17 seat Ford Transit minibus can be driven on a standard B1 driving licence, meaning you are allowed to drive motor vehicles not exceeding 550kg.
New Ford Transit Interior and Exterior Features
The exterior updates include a BOLD front-end design with a new grille, front bumper, hood and headlights.
There are some new exterior colours also available alongside some old favourite colours; Agate black (replacing Shadow black), chrome blue (replacing stratosphere), diffused silver (replacing tectronic silver), and the all new kappor red. But don’t panic the old favorites are still available: frozen White, Blazer Blue, Magnetic and Moondust Silver.
Attractive and hard-wearing interior trim and seat materials have been crafted to deliver functionality whilst creating a warm, comfortable and durable environment. It has generous accommodation for up to either 12 or 17 (including the driver) to sit comfortably and safely as well as more than enough luggage space. It has a power side load door and power step to help improve passenger access. The refreshed infotainment line up includes Ford SYNC 3 with tablet inspired 8-inch touchscreen. The Limited version comes with some interesting new changes including; painted front bumper, Bi- functional Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lamps, 16’’ ALLOYS, Parking slot measurement, air conditioning, and an 8-inch touch screen infotainment system.
New Ford Transit Driver Aids and Safety
Ford always pack their vehicles with the latest in safety features and driver aids with the Transit minibus you will find;
✔️ Pre Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection - uses radar and camera technology to scan the road ahead and alerts you of any pedestrians or cars that might potentially cross your path. If you fail to react to the alert, the Pre-Collision Assist technology will apply the brakes automatically.
✔️ Intelligent Cruise control - Intelligent Cruise control technology allows drivers to keep control of your speed limit so that you can fully focus on the road ahead. It uses a Traffic Sign Recognition system (TSR) - which can be deactivated - to identify traffic road signs and shows relevant information such as speed limits on the instrument cluster.
✔️ Lane keeping assist - As the name suggests, lane keeping assist technology helps drivers to comfortably stay in their lane.
✔️ Electronic Stability Control (ESC) - Senses when the vehicle is losing traction/grip and stabilises it.
✔️ Emergency brake assist - increases maximum braking pressure in an emergency to further protect you and your passengers.
✔️ Emergency Assistance - Ford Transit uses a SYNC feature that’s connected via bluetooth and connected mobile phone devices to enable all vehicle passengers to contact the Local Communications Centre in the midst of an emergency.
✔️ ISOFIX child seat fixing points - Comes as standard across the range, allsecond row seats have ISOFIX child seat fixing points with top tether mounts for added security and safety.
