Porsche are renowned for their sports cars - and it’s not often you get a true sports SUV that doesn’t let down in either capacity. They have focussed on the performance expected of a sports car when creating this model, which results in a compact SUV that combines design, sportiness and everyday practicality in one model.

For drivers who need the size and practicality of an SUV but don’t want to give up the driving enjoyment that the Porsche brand, and sports models in general promise, this is the perfect compromise.

Upgraded models allow for much more aggressive and (impressive) engine capabilities, but whichever engine you choose, the seven-speed, quick automatic gearbox comes as standard (although you can also take manual control, via steering wheel-mounted paddles). Every Macan model has a ‘Sports’ button, which sharpens the steering, the gear change, the accelerator response and (if you have the upgraded air suspension or PASM adaptive dampers) - its suspension. This mode makes the Macan one of the best driving SUVs on the market.

In the large SUV market, the Macan has some of the finest interiors, as you might expect from Porsche. The front seats offer ample space for even the tallest drivers and passengers, and whilst the rear seating is slightly tighter, all but the tallest should be comfortable here. The square-shaped boot swallows up eight carry on suitcases.

Porsche Macan car leasing is a great option, seeing as Porsche are expensive to buy outright and the brand doesn’t do discounts. The Mercedes Benz Gle Coupe is a competitor model here, offering a spacious luxury SUV on a slightly smaller scale.
