Volkswagen's New SUV - The T-Roc

Volkswagen's New SUV - The T-Roc

The T-Roc is the newest and smallest member of the Volkswagen SUV family.

Exterior Features of the T-Roc

The T-Roc features a bold striking design from Volkswagen. A wide front grille, large air vents and sloping roofline create a strong, confident appearance. Daytime running lights are built into the bumpers and also serve as indicators, turning orange when a signal is required.

To make sure the T-Roc is as individual as the driver, Volkswagen has offered 24 colour combinations on the exterior where body and roof colour can be contrasted. Standard, metallic and pearl paints are available in the regular blue, black, white and silver and some more exciting options such as Turmeric Yellow or Energetic Orange for those who want to make more of a statement on the road.

Engines available for the T-Roc

Initially, there are 3 petrol engines and just 1 diesel engine available to choose from. It is thought further diesel options will be added during 2018. Currently you can choose from the following;

  • 1.0 litre TSI 115PS 6 speed manual engine achieving 55.4mpg (combined) and producing the lowest Co2 emissions of 117g/km.
  • 1.5 litre TSI EVO 150PS 6 speed manual engine with Co2 emissions of 122g/km and mpg of 52.3 (combined).
  • 2.0 litre TSI 190PS 4MOTION 7 speed auto engine, this is the most powerful of the petrol engines and this is reflected in the highest Co2 emissions of 155g/km and the lowest mpg figure of 41.5 (combined).
  • Currently the only diesel engine is the 2.0 TDI 4MOTION 6 speed manual engine with the highest mpg of 56.5 (combined) and Co2 emissions of 132g/km

4MOTION engines will adapt to the terrain and road conditions to allocate power to all four wheels individually. This helps gain traction on any ground as well as preventing wheel spin and locking in challenging conditions.

Driver Aids

The T-Roc comes complete with everything a driver needs to improve awareness, improve safety and provide support. Parking sensors and park assist can help you park or steer for you. The blind spot sensor with rear traffic alert takes all the stress away when reversing out of a parking space and lane assist will make sure you don't drift too far from your intended course.

Front assist with City emergency braking reduces the risk of collisions and the driver monitor will give you a gentle reminder to take a break if signs of fatigue are detected. In the event of an accident the pre crash preventative occupant protection will prepare the vehicle by closing the panoramic sunroof, closing the windows and tensioning seatbelts to reduce the risk of harm.

Technology in the T-Roc

The T-Roc features an all-new digital dashboard with Car-Net at its heart to keep you connected while you are on the road. This system combines the functionality of Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. The Car-Net guide and inform service offers additional information on traffic conditions, local fuel prices, weather conditions and a news feed. Car-Net security and service allows the owner to track their vehicle, locate where it is parked, obtain vehicle health reports and will call emergency services if an accident occurs.

If you would like even more technology, you can optionally upgrade to a Beats sound system and add voice control so your hands never need to leave the steering wheel.
