The body design focuses on simplicity and sleek lines with even the door handles sitting flush, deployable when needed. Alloy wheel size depends upon the model selected with a range from 18” all the way up to 22”.

Which Engines are Available on the Range Rover Velar?

There are currently 3 diesel engines and 2 petrol engines available. These provide All Wheel Drive and all are fitted with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The diesel engines begin with the D180 a 2 litre, 4-cylinder 180PS turbocharged diesel engine with a top speed of 150 mph, a 0-60 mph time of 8.4 seconds. CO2 emissions are 142g/km with a combined maximum fuel efficiency of 52.5mpg. This engine provides the lowest emissions and maximum mpg of any engine offered in the Velar … but even though an 8.4 second 0-60 time is impressive, it’s also the slowest of the range. The diesel range offers the D240 and the most powerful D300 which has a max speed of 150 mph, 0-60 time of 6.1 seconds and combined mph of 44.1 mpg.

There are currently only 2 petrol engines available. The P250 is the most efficient petrol engine with a 2.0 litre 4-cylinder 250PS turbocharged engine with a max speed of 135 mph and 0-60 time of 6.4 seconds. CO2 levels are higher than any of the diesel options at 173 g/km and 37.2 mpg (combined) can be achieved. The most powerful petrol engine is the fastest of the Velar range. The P380 has a 3.0 litre V6 380PS supercharged engine with a max speed of 155 mph and a 0-60 time of 5.3 seconds. However, all this power does mean CO2 levels are high a 214 g/km and you may need frequent trips to the petrol station with a combined mpg of 30.1. A further 300hp petrol engine is due to be added later this year to sit between the existing two.

Drivers who are always losing their key or are particularly active can opt to have an Activity Key. The Activity Key is a robust and completely waterproof band to be worn around the wrist allowing users to swim, cycle or complete any activity without the need to carry their key fob.

Admirably, Land Rover are also appealing to vegetarian buyers, or those who prefer cloth seats, with the Velar by offering a leather free interior option. Range Rover worked with leading European textile manufacturer Kvadrat made using a wool blend and a suedecloth created from recycled materials such as plastic bottles.

Here at Rivervale Car Leasing we are in no doubt that the Velar will be in hot demand, and may even steal a few customers away from the Porsche Macan, Jaguar F-Pace and Audi Q5.
